Application of Robust Optimization in Designing Digital Circuits
In the past few decades, the sizes of circuits have been increasing exponentially. Variability in the mode of operation and the fabrication process means that many parameters are non-deterministic, making finding a global optimal point very hard. In this presentation, applications of robust optimization in designing digital circuits are discussed.

Numerical Approaches to the Logit Network Pricing Problem
In this talk, we address the numerical solution of a pricing problem where users are assigned according to a logit model onto the paths of a transportation network. Although this highly nonconvex problem admits a large number of local optima, we develop strategies that allow to uncover near-optimal solutions, through a mixture of approximations and local ascent techniques.

A Dynamic Control Scheme for a Fuzzy Quality Characteristic
A dynamic economic control scheme for a fuzzy quality characteristic is proposed. This scheme has adaptive sampling intervals, sample sizes and operating policies, and minimizes total cost. It describes the process via aggregated fuzzy membership functions. It is less costly than schemes that are static or based on measures of centrality.

A Semidefinite Optimization Approach to Space-Free Multi-Row Facility Layout
Multi-row facility layout seeks an optimal placement of departments along rows. Large single-row problems have been solved to global optimality using semidefinite optimization. We extend the approach to space-free multi-row layout and show that if provides high-quality bounds in reasonable time.
