SCRO / Journées de l'optimisation
HEC Montréal, 29-31 mai 2023
CORS-JOPT2023
HEC Montréal, 29 — 31 mai 2023
This year, we are organizing several satellite activities to the conference. The list is updated regularly.
Industrial Day
As part of the conference, we are organizing a day dedicated to the industry on Wednesday, May 31. Three sessions are planned during which some companies are invited to present. After the last session, participants are invited to a networking activity. The objective of the activity is to offer students the opportunity to meet with practitioners and discuss real-life problems and solutions. Industry representatives will have the opportunity to present career opportunities. A cocktail will be offered to the participants.
The networking activity is reserved for industrial participants and students enrolled in the activity. Registration is done via the main registration website. The registration fee is 5$.
Canadian Healthcare Optimization Workshop (CHOW)
The Health Care Operational Research Special Interest Group (HCOR SIG) of the Canadian Operational Research Society (CORS) is proud to host the Canadian Healthcare Optimization Workshop (CHOW). This workshop provides a forum for researchers with a common interest in healthcare optimization to share the latest advances with other researchers and practitioners in the field. The workshop also connects researchers with practitioners to discuss innovative solutions and best practices that help improve the effectiveness of the healthcare system. This year’s program includes presentations by researchers and practitioners, as well as roundtable discussions.CHOW will be a in person event, held on Sunday, May 28th (the day before the start of the CORS/Optimization Days Conference in Montreal). The event will take place at HEC Montréal. The preliminary schedule is from 1pm to 8pm.
More info on the event and the program to come.
The registration fee is 10$. A coffee break and a networking activity (including food and drinks) are included.
Writing and presenting - students only
This year, we are providing an opportunity for student members to gain writing and presenting experience under the guidance of peers and faculty members. The aim is to better-acquaint student members and postdoctoral fellows with the peer-review publishing and conference presentation process. We encourage graduate students that are advanced in their master’s thesis, PhD thesis, or postdoctoral fellows, to participate in the activity.
To participate, you must first submit a video presentation, no more than three minutes long. For the video presentation, you may use visual support (e.g., PowerPoint or Beamer), but this is neither mandatory nor encouraged. For the video, please send a link to a shared drive (e.g., OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive) using the following form before March 31st:

The selected students will be contacted before April 21.
During the conference, the selected students will have a special stream organized for the writing and presenting activities. This special stream will include a presentation given by Prof. Gilbert Laporte about scientific publication, as well as full presentations from the selected students. Finally, students will have a networking activity where they will receive feedback from their peers.
