    The Capacitated Transshipment Location Problem with Stochastic Handling Utilities at the Facilities

    The capacitated transshipment location problem with stochastic handling utilities at the facilities finds a facility location able to maximize the net utility given by the expected total shipping utility minus the total cost for locating the facilities.
    We provide a stochastic model, an efficient heuristics, and extensive computational results.

    Market Analysis and Transportation Procurement for the World Food Programme in Ethiopia

    In transporting food aid, the World Food Programme (WFP) contracts with third-party transporters. Historical contracts are analyzed using statistical models to characterize Ethiopian transportation markets. We show how WFP and other shippers can use the results to improve transportation procurement processes and overall supply chain performance.

    La recherche en cours porte sur l’analyse de différents modèles d’affaires ayant pour but d’établir des cadres de collaboration et les étapes d’implantations nécessaires à l’aboutissement d’un tel projet. Pour y arriver, nous regardons différentes méthodes de répartition des bénéfices et des coûts d’opération entre les différents membres selon le type de partenariat.

    Robust Refinery Logistics

    We study a logistic planning problem at a petroleum refinery. There are uncertainties of the arrival times of ships to take away petroleum products from the refinery. We use robust optimization to establish a good balance between production, blending and loading. We compare with a traditional safety stock level approach.
