Best Paper Awards

The best research paper in Industrial Engineering was awarded to Shenle PAN, Eric BALLOT and Frederic FONTANE for their paper entitled: The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from freight transport by merging supply chains.

The best research paper in Systems Management was awarded to Aurelie CHARLES, Mathieu LAURAS and Luk N. VAN WASSENHOVE for their paper entitled: Towards an agile supply chain: lessons learned from humanitarians. 

Special regognition  

We are also please to give a special recognition to the finalist paper in both categories:

Best Systems Management paper finalist: ‘Preliminaries on AMHS: Lessons learned’ from Cecilia Temponi, Jesus Jimenez, and Jibran Khan.

Best Industrial Engineering paper finalist: ‘Scheduling Inbound Trucks at a Cross-Docking Facility: A Multi-objective and a Hierarchical Approach’ from Mihalis GOLIAS, Georgios SAHARIDIS, Maria BOILE, Sotiris THEOFANIS, and Ti ZHANG. 

Conference Objectives

As previous IESM conferences, the goal of IESM'2009 was to bring researchers and professionals from all relevant industrial engineering and systems management disciplines together to discuss issues and share their research and development results and experience.  

Location

The conference was held at École Polytechnique de Montréal, which is located in the center of the city of Montreal (Canada).
